Manhattan Cruise Terminal

I'm looking for info about parking at the Manhattan cruise terminal. We will be driving from PA. I've checked out the official Port Authority web site and understand that there is parking on roof of the terminal. It seems to me that this would be very limited relative to the number of vehicles.

I guess my Q's boil down to:
1. is there adequate on-site parking?
2. if not, where do folks park?
3. any other suggestions (such as parking in NJ and taking ferry)?

Thanks.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if terminal parking was so limited as to be unreliable.
Traffic on Sunday morning should (famous last words) be manageable!
Thanks again.

We're on the same cruise. Yea, Sundays are not bad. I hope we're the only ship there that day, and on our return. There's lots of parking--up on top of the pier. We've parked there 11 times and never had any trouble. We get there about 11-11:30, and most of the time we're on in a half hour. All depends if the ship is on time getting back in. Ron

4 1/2 months to go and we're getting excited. Too many years of postponements and other delays. Finally, we're booked and ready.
Hope to see other addicts aboard.

Mike--We also have a Roll Call going on Cruise Critic, under Norwegian Dawn--Bermuda-5/10/2009. I started it under " bauerdogs". We have 3 couples so far that post on there. If you get a chance, check it out. Ron

Will do.
I have seen a couple other posts from folks sailing 5/10//09.
I'm more than open to receive advice / suggestions re: Bermuda as well as the Dawn itself.

If you want to know anything, I'll try to answer. We've been on the Dawn before. It's a nice ship. It's our 12th trip to Bermuda. So, if you have any questions about Bermuda, just ask. We always take a double scooter to get around, always have and always will--LOL. We love the scooters, and wouldn't do it any other way. Ron
