Anyone else out there possibly cruising on the Coral at the same time??? We promise we do NOT bite .... well at least I do NOT but I can NOT vouch for the rest of the Group. :lol Since we are nearing the 150 day mark soon maybe we can start building our way up to the cruise on this thread. :dance If U are contemplating doing the Panama Canal this is the year to do as there is a surplus of cabins and therefore there should be some deep discounting going on which means more $$$ for Frozen Thingees. :party

We're on just a few weeks after you guys, Einstein. :wave Make sure you leave the ship in good working order! :wave Wish we could go earlier, but our life revolves around school vacations.

I'll be counting on you all to tell me what to do & what not to do for shore excursions, dining, etc. I'll be following you along every day via the board, so I'm counting on LOTS of posts!

BTW - I think the prices will drop too. :thumb

OK PANAMA @ddicts the day is getting closer. :dance So who has cabin assignments already??? For a change we are NOT in a guarantee so our cabin is C641 nad it look to be right next to one of the suites. :grin Perhaps we can exchange in some embibing with them. :cheers So anyone else with a cabin assignment add it here so we can start to make a list and get things rollin. :thumb

We weren't satisfied with the pricing for the cruise we mainly were looking at and ended up booking on the 1/22 Coral sailing. E, you are right about the pricing. We took an almost identical cruise on RCCL last January and prices for this one are over $200 pp less for the same type room. Works for me ;)

We are book on the 3/12/04 Coral Princess Panama Canal.. Cabin # D516-Dolphin Deck. Orginally we were book in BC/B510. We were upgraded .by Princess sometime in August.

We decided on a new adventure this cruise, instead of f lying to Fort Lauderdale we decided to take Amtrak from Savannah. arriving in Fort Lauderdale 3/11/04. We got a great price compare to the airline fares. We now live in South Carolina but in the pass we flew out of Philadelphia.since we are origially from New Jersey. It should be fun and different. Now I am working on a hotel. thur Priceline. Wish me luck, so far it has been a wash. See you aboard.

Jeanie, I got a successful bid on Marriott Marina on that date for $50. It is a 3 star property. Good luck!

Jeanie - I've been trying Priceline every few days lately but so far, no luck here either. Been offering $65 for 2.5 star (ex: Amerisuites) or 3 star (ex: Marriott Marina). Burbunny (Amber Blecker) advised me to not go much above this figure just yet as she thinks some more rooms may become available. Guess I'll just keep trying.

Jacquie - That's a good rate. We paid $60 per room at the Marriott Marina. :thumb

MPH - That price seems very high to me for AmeriSuites. I would try waiting a week or two and then try again. Last time we stayed there, we paid $65 for the room through their website at no discount at all.

Glad to have U onboard Jeanie. :wave Good Luck to U and MPH on the bidding I believe patience may well be a GOOD virtue in your cases. Be patient and hopefully U will snag a good room at a good price. :thumb

We got the Airport Wyndham 3* (formerly the Airport Hilton) on Priceline for $50.00, Jan 1st. Really wanted the downtown area but didn't have any luck. Probably since it's a holiday and a lot of the hotels are full. The price on their website shows $139 so I think we got a pretty good deal.

Still no luck with Priceline but I keep trying. We want to stay in the downtown area. It is convenient to the Amtrak Station.

As of 1/6/04 on Priceline: no luck at $75 for 2.5 stars or higher, FLL beach, downtown or airport. Not sure what I'm going to do.
