Mariner Cabin #1688

Hi All,

I have been on the Mariner twice before, and both times we were booked in an E1 Balcony on the 8th deck on the hump.

For my next cruise on the Mariner, we will be on Deck 10 in a corner D1 cabin, #1688. This will also be the first time that there will be 3 of in a cabin. I am taking the mother in-law along with us for her first cruise.

Can anyone give me some information on this cabin? I am told that it is bigger than E1 and even bigger than some junior suites.

1.Does anyone know the square footage of the cabin and also the balcony?

2.Were you happy in this AFT cabin?

3.Were there any drawbacks other than the Long walk to an elevator?

4. Was it overly noisy from the pool band above?

5. Has anyone used the pull-out couch? Is it comfy enough for my mother in-law or should I sleep on it?

6. Someone told me that you will get some soot on the balconies of the 10th deck. Is this a problem or just a minor nuisance?

Thanks for all of your help on this one.

We had someone on our Group cruise that stayed in this cabin. I would say the cabin might be a bit bigger but NOT by much. As for the balcony we HIGHLY researched these corner aft balconies as we love the aft balconies and we opted away from it. It is NOT any BIGGER and in fact comes out as smaller beacause about a 1/3 of it is actually enclosed in metal. Here is a photo that shows what I mean.

No noise issue IMO from the pools. No soot issues on our cruise either as we were one deck below in 9692 and loved the cabin and balcony location and size. As for the pullout couch about all I can say is I have NEVER felt one that is worthy of my back so I would suggest U opt for the couch. Good Luck!!! :thumb
