Very excited to board this sunday...Myself, boyfriend, 14 yr old son and 10 yr old daughter. First cruise for all, my concern is for my 10 yr old daughter. I set up service through Verizon so we can text eachother on the cruise, I was wondering if anyone knows the time frame they offer their kids programs and is she going to be busy all day/evening, should we get walkie talkie's instead? How much time will she actually spend in the room, etc...any advice?

I would check your plan for texting. On our last cruise, my son racked up quite a bill from texting and making calls. Usually texting is free within your area. Check just to be sure. Our bill was $300 more. AAAHHH!

There is a lot of things to do on the ship, so your daughter shouldn't get bored. The kids programs usually go morning, afternoon, and night time activities. Hopefully she will meet a friend on the ship to hang out with. We travelled with our 3 boys, 16, 14, and 11. I barely ever saw them. In fact we seemed to spend most of our time trying to find them. haha. We did go with a group of 4 adults and 11 kids though, that may of been the difference. But there is quite a bit for them to do. It depends on the child. If she is outgoing she will definitely make friends in the kids clubs and want to go.

Have a great cruise.

My 11 year old and twin 4 year olds made friends on this cruise, and we traveled the same time as you....fantastic trip, wasn't it?? :) Excellent weather too. I loved the kids programs. Did you see the pirate parade? Adorable. We used walkie talkies but they only worked if we were outside or close to windows. Otherwise the reception was bad.
