This will be the first Mexican Riviera cruise for my wife and me and our 4th cruise on RCCL overall. School will be in session by this time so there won't be as many kids screaming and running around at the adult pool, bars and casino on this cruise, darn! I was so looking forward to that.
Anyone else?

Hi Doug

I am also cruising on the Mariner on Sept. 13th. Yes, it will be nice not to see too many kids getting in our way. It is so easy to trip over them. Just kidding.

One time there was this large Chinese family and everytime I would pass by them a little girl would be running in front of them crying each time I would see them.
Finally....one time I see the little girl crying again and I said to the family "if they didn't want their little girl I would take her" as I walked past them.LOL.

I do love kids but only if their parents are able to control them.

Take lots of money because things are very cheap in Mexico presently. I plan to shop at Wal-Mart in Puerto Vallarta.lol.

I have been to those ports many times. Luci

Hi Luci

I agree about the kids. I love kids but Disney has a great theme park and cruise line for them last time I checked. That's why we made sure we booked AFTER school starts.
My wife and I like to relax on a cruise and I'll be interested to know anything you can tell me about the best beaches/beach clubs to enjoy sun and drinks.
How many cruises have you been on and where?

Hurricane Jimena Info Re: Mariner of the Seas

From a cruise news report on Hurricane Jimena:

"-- Royal Caribbean's Mariner of the Seas, which departed Los Angeles on Sunday on a seven-night Mexican Riviera cruise, also has reversed its itinerary. The 3,114-passenger ship now will visit Puerto Vallarta on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., Mazatlan on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Cabo San Lucas on Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m."

Good for the folks on this voyage that they will still get their cruise in. As fate would have it, this is one of the reasons why we booked this cruise instead of the Caribbean for this time of year...to avoid the frequent Atlantic hurricanes and to cruise the Mexican Riviera for the first time. But for now, I'm more concerned for the well being of the locals in Mexico and hope that any damage on land is minimal.
