I am cruising on the Mariner and have several ?'s. There will be 4 of us and would like to know should we rent 2 balcony cabins or 1 grand suite. We would likr to be able to lay out on the balcony, can you do this in the suite? Will they unlock the balcony between 2 cabins? Which room would be best? Is concierge worth it? Please let me know what yall think, I like space. and is there a divider or curtain between the bed and sleeper sofa? Is the sleeper bed uncomfortable and what would you pick? HEEEEEEELP. Also so,eone said the aft rooms are bigger.

RCI does not open the balcony doors. Unless they have recently changed their rules. One thought, two potties and 2 showers for 4 people.........( 2 cabins)

Suer's right about the 2 bathrooms! We always book 2 rooms, one inside (for the kids) one balcony for us. I've never had a suite so I can't answer about the space but I do get Concierge. It is nice but not necessary. The concierge will make reservations for the spa, pay restaurants, shore excursions etc. In addition you can get DVD's from the concierge as well as drinks and canapes from 5:30 to 8 or 8:30 can't remember which. I prefer to make all my own reservations anyway so no, I wouldn't pay for a suite just for concierge service. JMHO

Hi,

Thank you for replying. How do you get concierge without a suite? I was told you had to book a suite. Where did you stay on the boat and are the rooms big enough for 2 adults in each.

Thank you

I think it is after 10 sailings you have access to the conceirge regarless of what cabin category cabin you are booked for the 11th sailing. The additional expense of the concierge is up to you.

Is booking two JS cabins an option. You arent entitled to the concierge lounge, but I am still focusing on two showers and potties, especially with 4 adults. These cabins are a little bit bigger than a regular balcony cabin.

I am pretty sure they have a sheet type divider between the bed and the sleeper sofa, but not sure how comfy the sleepsofa would be :). But hey, if you are exhausted any place to crash works.

Suer is correct. :thumb Diamond members and above get Cocierge status and access to their lounge. As for the benefit of it I guess that depends on your consumption of alcoholic beverages on a Pre-Dinner nightly basis as that seems to be the MOST valuable perk associated with it. :grin Assuming U and your significant other consume 2 drinks a night each at ~ $6 a pop that amounts to about ~ $170 for a 7 Day Cruise.

Over the timespan its a nice perk for Pass Paxs that reach the Diamond level. That being said the trend seems to be reducing these perks either by making them more difficult to attain or by reducing them unfortunately. So most likely by the time most folks just beginning stages of their cruising carreer the tables will be either changed or NO longer available. =shrug

As a siednote Royal Caribbeans cousin (Celebrity) does offer Concierge Class accomodations at and additional costs and has cabins designated with that Class for sale. Now the perks diifer Gr8ly for Celebrity and I would by guessing if I attempted to point out to U what they actaully are as I have NEVER cruised in that Class with them.

Per the balcony divider question the answers above are ABSOLUTELY correct in that the dividers can NOT be opened on the Voyager Class ships. I know that Princess ships offer that option and I believe Carnival's ships do offer that option also. Enjoy your cruise!!! :thumb

I'm Diamond Plus and to me, the concierge service is not worth the extra cost of a suite to a non D/DP pax.......go for the suite only if you want more room.........dont go for the free drinks....

Gotta agree with PH about it not worth the price of a suite to get concierge service.

You asked about the size of aft cabins ... We were in a corner aft on deck 10 and the cabin was huge. We had as much room as in a JS. And the balcony had room to spare even with a table, 2 chairs and a lounge chair. The cabin next to us was the same catagory (D1, I think) but was not as large. They had a much deeper balcony though and could have had about 6 lounge chairs on there. I hope this helps.
