I just returned from the Mariner. It is a beautiful ship. The service was great. But the food was not up to my standards. Everybody is different in what they like in foods.
I was surprised that they had the same menu for lunch. I thought there would be different choices in dishes like the other cruiselines do.
One lady complained that she couldn't invite her friend to the Platinum Captain's party because her roomie was not a platinum member. THAT IS CHEAP OF RCCL.
Really interesting how people really miss not getting a chocolate candy on their pillows. RCCL cut out the candies on the pillow. It doesn't bother me.
I did have a wonderful cabin steward and some wonderful waiters. I personally gave them their tips. I like to do that.
We changed from late dinning to early dinning because we were hungry at 6p.m. We had some great company at our dinner table.
It was hot and humid in the Mexican-Riviera but I go there a lot so it doesn't bother me.
I loved the ice skating show. It was beautiful.
I will not be cruising on the Mariner soon because I didn't like the food choices and the flavors were bland. They did have some great desserts. But I prefer to have some fun foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
It was a wonderful experience but I like the Carnival Splendor food better and will be cruising with that ship on HALLOWEEN and on Dec. 6th. I have cruised with the Splendor before. I like their Tandori food station, their Burrito food Station, their Korean stir fry food station, etc. at their buffet. I also like the food choices at the restaurants. Lucy
