I have been on both.......biggest difference is of course, the LB is bigger......has a H20 zone for kids and the FloRider......

I think both ships are fun for kids(if you have any)....

If you want to try the Mariner ,you might pick her since her last cruise outta Pt canaveral is Dec 28,2008(she is being moved to CA)....

I personally like Pt canaveral better.....but as far as ships, they are both great.....

I have pics of both ships....

If you have any more specific questions, ask away.........

well, i dont have kids. its just me and my husband. and were a pretty your couple. i am considering about taking a cruise 09/08 and im stuck btwn both ships. there really isnt that much difference in the price but since i havnt been on of those ships, im doing my research.

Now, im a pretty laid back person. im more of the relaxing type and let the time pass by. On the other hand, my husband is just the complete opposite. he like to DO THINGS. he doesnt just wanna chill.

Would any of the ships work with our personality?

Ande one big thing is basketball. Does both ship have them? ( my husband was kinnda mad at me coz i thought that the monarch had a bball court but it didnt. lolz )

and last thing is that i know mariner is leaving from port canaveral and liberty is leaving from miami. are both port earily accessible through the airport ( since i leave in Los Angeles ). Coz ive read that you have to pay like 100 per person for the transportation from orlando to port canaveral, NOw would the case in miami be the same?

Not sure about taxis fees since I live in FL.......but I think most people fly to Ft lauderdale to take a ship outta Miami(cheaper,I think).....if thats the case, MCO-PtCanaveral......and FLL to Port of Miami are both a 45 min drive.......

The ships both have basketball courts.....and lot to do for your husband.......like I said, the LB has the FloRider if he wants to try surfing onboard.........

Since you live in LA,I say the LB, then you can take the MA when she comes your way Feb 09...

Thats a good idea!!! there is only like $50 difference between the two anyway but i was looking more into what else i would pay for with the different port transportations.

Anyways, thats a good point that your making about the mariner coming to LA. that will actually be perfect.the mariner will be taking over the vision of the seas for the mexican riviera or will it have another destination?

PH8 - We're taking the Mariner in Oct and planning to take the kids on the Liberty in Jan '09. Would you say that the Mariner would give us a decent preview of what to expect for the Liberty? I understand that we sacrifice rollerblading to get the H2O zone and Flowrider. What we're really trying to determine is if it's worth $1200-$1500 more to take the family on the LOS instead of the Carnival Liberty. There is also the issue of needing an accessible cabin for the kids, and that's proving to be a big deal. Accessibles are practically all double occ only.

Yes, the MA will give you a good idea of what the LB is..basically the same except for a few things which you seem to know about....

Accessible,as in a handicapped room?? If so,I dont know too much about those.....sorry....but heres some info that might help.
