I have stayed here many times. Sometimes on business; sometimes pre- or post-cruise. To the best of my recollection about five times now.
It's a great hotel and we stay there every chance we get. My wife and I are both frequent business travelers and use our Marriott points for free nights.
If there is something in particular you're interested in knowing post here or send me an email and I'd be more than happy to answer any questions that I can. I also have a ton of pictures showing the pool area, the beach and the grounds that I can send you if you're interested.

Thanks Hawkeye, I was asking for a friend. They put in a bid on priceline & got the Condado Plaza Casino & Resort. I hope it is as nice!

The Condado Plaza is very nice, also, though more "hotel-like" than the Marriott. The Stella Solaris is more "resort-like".
We've eaten at some of the restuarants in the Condado Plaza on various occasions. If your friends like seafood the Cobia restaurant there is excellent. Their sea bass is some of the best I've ever eaten anywhere.
There are four or five others there on the second floor, also.

We have stayed at the Wyndom San Juan...an old established hotel on the dock area..we did that so we could board our ship etc..
We also are right in the middle of old town for walking...
A favorite place to dine is El Covento ...and old Convent redone as a small, boutique like hotel in old town..never stayed there but would like to some time...
When in the old world I like to feel the old town etc....tour it ..it is lovely....
