Maw Moved

Just talked to Maw, she called to tell me that they moved her last night. She is a Healthcare Center right behind the hospital she was at. It's called Parkview. She has her cell phone & you can call her on that.
She had sent Paw home & told him to bring her some of her own gowns tomorrow. She said tis weekend when Brenda comes she will have her bring some of her own clothes down because everyone there wears clothes.
She said Paw is keeping busy by cleaning house. The nurse just came to get her to give her a bath.
She sounded real good but said the dr. said it would be 2 weeks or so before they do the surgery. She said its not a bad place & she thinks they are taking good care of her. She went down to rehab a little earlier so they could excersie her some.
She just wishes someone would tell her more about whats going on. I told her they usually have a care conference a few days after someone gets there & they acess them.

Thanks for that report Jan. That sounds like a better place for Maw until she has her surgery. And she should be able to get some physio-therapy. Here they have started getting people to have physio-therapy before they do knee replacements or any other replacements. There is a faster recovery rate & makes the other limb stronger. I hope that they have other family members allowed in on the care conference so they know what will be happening also.

Too bad she has to wait so long for the surgery. Since she is in the Health Care Center maybe they will offer some type of social activity like bingo, etc that will help her pass the long days. As always, wishing the best for both her and Paw. Must be pretty lonesome at home for Paw.
