Maw thursday 3/24 report

Sorry this is so late, but I have been on the road traveling to come to Maw for the weekend. Went by Nursing home on my way to their house. She is very sleepy, but was really happy to see me. She was drifting in and out of sleep, so I told her I would be back tomorrow, not sure she'll remember me being there. Got to house and Paw was waiting up, asked if she made any sense to me as he hadn't been able to understand what she was saying(not unusual). :whistle: They had her in therapy today and worked on upper body, Paw said she didn't want to go but theapist talked her into it. Hopefully they can back off some of the meds tomorrow, I will definitly check on that. For those who have tried to call and got that message about voice mail, it's fixed and you should be able to leave a message now when you call and don't get her. Later.

It will take her a few days to get the drugs out of her system. But glad they are working on her therapy now. Glad that you are able to be there for them Brenda. Wish them both all the best from us.

Thank you for the update, Brenda. Not only does the anesthesia have to work its way out of MAW's system, but they'll be giving her various pain meds to be able to tolerate the rigors of PT, all of which will affect her lucidity.

Please tell MAW and PAW that Mary Ann & Pucci send their love.

How is Paw doing?

Paw seems to be doing fine! He was a little miffed cause he couldn't understand her today, which frustrates him to death. He asked if I was going back down tomorrow and when I said I planned to stay till Saturday, he got this gleam in his eye. :diablo: I can take a day off then? I told him that she has said he doesn't need to come everyday, but guess he just needs that assurance that she is okay, especially right now as she doesn't seem to be coherent on the phone. So he get the day off tomorrow and I'm on duty!!

I'am glad you are there with her for a few days. I know she was wishing you would come down & help her with some paper work she had ben wanting to get done.
She sid Paw was making her crazy about the paper work.
I thoughtr maybe she was still sleepy when I didn't hear from her yet.

This all takes time.......the drugs are necessary, but will surely make her more than loopy. The good thing is she will probably not remember a good portion of all of this. PT is painful and stressful....but so necessary. Dangle a cruise in front of her......that will make her work at it! Thanks for the update and hugs for Maw and Paw!
