Hello All
Need some advice from those of you that have been to Cozumel.
We are sailing on the Zuiderdam on May 17th. We are in Cozumel from
6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (7 and 1/2 hours)
The time length reported in our excursion list shows the Mayan Ruins of Tulum tour to be approx. 6 and 1/2 hours.
Will we have enough time to do this tour or is there anything else you'd recommend doing?
Reading the past posts shows quite a few recommendation for Carlos and Charlies and now we are not sure what to do during our stay in Cozumel.

Thanks for any advice or recommendations you can give.

The Tulum ruins are located on the mainland. The Tulum tour can be done in two ways: Some ships stop at Playa Del Carmen, tender the people ashore to catch the tour buses and then go on the 12-14 miles to the Island of Cozumel. Some ships go directly to Cozumel and the passengers take a ferry across the channel to Playa and catch the tour buses. Either way, you will ferry back to Cozumel when the tour is finished.
Re/ the time to take the tour, you will have ample time if you go on a ships tour., as the ship will wait if necessary.

If you are interested in Mayan history, it is a pretty good tour. If not, it will pretty much fill your day and you will not have much, if any time to spend in Cozumel.

Re/ Carlos and Charlies, it is a popular bar that attracts a lot of cruisers and can get pretty rowdy after the folks have had several margaritas. You know whether that is your thing or not.

Cozumel itself is easy place to get around, plenty of shopping and eateries, etc. It is a very very popular cruise port.

If shopping is more important that seeing a Mayan site, stay in Cozumel. If you are interested in Mayan history and can basically forego the shopping, take the tour to Tulum. Based on your ship getting in around 6:30 am and leaving at 2:00pm, I don't think you can cover Cozumel and take the tour too.
