Mayan Ruins at Tulum

Can someone give me a ballpark figure for what Carnival charges for the Mayan Ruins at Tulum tour? Has anyone done this tour from the Conquest and if so, did you have a problem with the time? It says the tour lasts 7 hours and I think we are only in port for 7 1/2 hours? Cutting it close!

The most recent price list I have is about 1 1/2 years old, but the tour order form suggests that the tour lasts 6 hours and is $68 per adult, $34 per child. Not to worry about getting back to the ship late if you book through the cruiseline. They are obligated to wait if you're late on any tour booked through them.

Carnival just e-mailed me a price list on Friday (7/25). It is for the Inspiration, but I would think they would cost the same. If you book the excursions through the ship, they will not leave without you!! The price for the Mayan Ruins of Tulum were as follows:

Duration: 7 1/2 - 8 hours Price per adult: $79.00 - child: $39.00

If you want the rest of the list, e-mail me and I will send it to you. Or you can e-mail carnial with your ship name and the date that you are sailing at guestinfo@carnival.com and they will send you a complete list of all the excursions that they offer for that ship!! But remember, you can't book early, so be sure to do so as soon as you can.

Have a great cruise!!!

My wife enjoyed the Ruins at Tulum.

I thought the place looked run down and was "ruined".

If you have never explored Mayan ruins, then a visit to Tulum is a must for your things to do list. Go with the cruise line and you will be safe and secure.
Bon Voyage

The Tulum ruins are set on one of the most beautiful cliffs overlooking the ocean. Go and appreciate the Mayans. A guide is a great way to see the ruins and through the cruise is much safer in terms of time and access. Take the parking lot tram and don't waste the time taking the long walk. My wife who teaches mayan culture and history believes they are great. If you visit Belize, the ruins there are also wonderful and even more accessible for climbing on them. Also, being in the jungle, as opposed to on the ocean as in Tulum, they seem more realistic.
