Dear Sestra, I just got back yesterday from the Dawn Princess Alaska trip. It is fabulous. We went to Mendenhall Glacier on a bus and you can walk a short way to an elevator to the visitor center. There is a good view from there of the glacier. The walk down the path may be too strenuos for your Mom. We enjoyed it but it was rainy and cool then too. We did not do the rainforest portion. We went on a wildlife quest which was a great catamaran new boat out of Auke Bay. We saw whales, seals, sea lions, eagles and sitka deer. Lovely day. Good luck.
