I made reservations on the September 12 sailing for the Ultimate Alaska cruise which was roundtrip from San Francisco up to the Hubbard Glacier...it had it all, including Sitka and something called Icy Point. Now, the cruise has eliminated the Inside Passage entirely and reversed much of the itinerary which appears to include a lot of open sea time... for example, Victoria, B.C. straight to Hubbard Glacier (for one full hour) and then Ketchikan straight back to San Francisco. The alternative is to do the September 3 cruise Vancouver to San Francisco, but it does not include Sitka. 1. I am seeking veteran cruisers' views concerning open sea in September and Sitka versus Inside Passage. 2. Does anyone know why Celebrity made this change in the 9/12 cruise? Just curious.
