Had anyone been in cabin 8059 oceanview on the Mercury. It says it is Deluxe oceanview how would that vary from just oceanview.? Has anyone been on since refit last year.Going on the Hawaii cruise in Oct.
Many thanks I keep trying to see the virt. tour but it isnt showing it. Only the oceanview one. But thankyou for telling me about it. Also would you know what else is in the room.?
A weak hairdryer (only suitable for men, I bring my own)
A mini bar/fridge
TV with pay per view movies and music channels
Ice bucket always filled/glasses
Fairly good closet space
Was there anything specific you were wondering about?
Once again thankyou for your reply. The reason I asked what else was in the rooms was because some cruise lines say bathrobes ect. I did notice it has a VCR in the deluxe staterooms. Wonder if they hire out videos.? I will take my own hairdryer now you have mentioned it.I have tried another site to see the rooms that you mentioned. Really looking forward to our cruise.
Yes on the robes. Also (VERY important for women!) there is a fully stocked Q-tip and cotton ball dispenser, as well as a shampoo dispenser in the shower. I bring my own conditioner. But having the Q-tips and cotton balls is great. The robes are nice and toasty, but if you pack them, they will charge you! (much more than they're worth)
I can only speak to M class, which has a fully stocked library of books and videos for your use. Not sure about Mercury. I'm rarely so bored I want to watch a movie! but if I do, I just rent one from the TV directly, where you can also view your up to the minute on board account (HOW much did I drink last night?), etc.=huh
The TV allows for room service orders, etc. It's all automated and very cool.
There are many different types of music channels, one to suit everyone. However, they do loop the same music over and over...after 6-8 days of listening to Tina Turner while I dress for dinner, I'm wishing to hear anything else!
ps - I just went onto the interactive room experience...looks like deluxe oceanview just has a larger window than regular oceanview. However, I was able to "look around" both types of cabins. I see the VCR, so they must loan movies out.
