Hi! If memory serves me correctly, Prince Rupert is in BC, yes? Well, I used to work on Cruise ships (Sagafjord, Vistafjord, QE2, Royal Viking Sun, ...) and any ship departing and returning to a US port must visit one port outside of the US during the voyage. I cannot recall exactly why, but I do know that this is mandatory and so the stop in Prince Rupert is merely a formality. Hope that this answers your question!Melissa
