Just back from a short 4 nighter on her. My first experience with a C class.... so now I've been on them all and I do have a new favorite.

The Merc. I'll put up some info soon likely in my blog but if there are any questions ..try me.

Is the Mercury better than our favorite C class ship The Century?

We sailed with more than a few Century folks n our 4 nighter. They say the Century is better although of course very similar. It received quite a refurbish a few yrs ago. I have yet to sail her and the Merc was the first C class that I've been on. There is only the two left now.

Hey BSea...you out there helping to build those ski slopes yet? :)

We've crossed over and entering your Celebrity side. My Bob and I are going on our first Celebrity cruise on the Century for the 4 nighter in March while Jer goes to practise for spring training tournament. We'll only miss one game and join him for the last few.

We've treated ourselves to a guarantee ocean view which was at the same price as the inside and of course, got Continental level but at least not over a propellor unless they are more aft than mid too! We are opposite the Medical Centre.

Do you have any experience of the beds between Conv (oh..and anyone else with info of course!)..which we got and I presume is twin which they say becomes a double when put together.......and the king..which sounds better...we'd have to switch rooms for that? Even that OTHER board which gets more action dissed me and it sank with no replies! sheesh

If we are lucky the prices will drop and maybe we'll move up a deck or so...won't be upset if we don't but why not play the game.

Every =X= ship I have been on when they convert the beds it turns into a King Size regardless of room type.
Except of course a few on the Zenith and Horizon which could not be moved at all. (Just b4 those ships left the fleet they finally marked the brochures)

I'm sure you will enjoy =X=. However just because it's =X= doesn't mean you might have a bit more excitement (younger crowd) on a four dayer in March out of Florida.

We need snow on the North Shore mountains for sure but they have it all stock piled and are moving in straw to build the base. Whistler and the x coutry are just fine all set to go. For the rest of us going to Hockey and curling we don't want snow :) Our weekend is the 20th for both those events. Should be fun. But $$$ means no spring cruise :bawl:

Thanks BSea.......I'm not too worried about the 'younger' crowd unless you've expanded that to include us 'younger' 50 some year olds!

Jer won't be aboard as he'll be playing ball so relaxation without teen angst morning and night will help recharge our batteries.

Thanks for letting me know about the beds...I'll get my request in.

We have cruised on the Century, Constellation and the Solstice and we have heard how nice the Mercury is. I want to sail on another Solstice class ship but the Commander-in-Chief want to try the Mercury please post your review before the end of February because we wants to book a cruise for October 2010.

Thanks for any information on the Mercury.
