Mexican Riviera in January?

Has anyone done a Mexican Riviera (Cabo, Mazatlan, etc) cruise in early January? I am trying to decide between a caribbean cruise or a Mexican cruise leaving right after the new year. I have read some things that say the weather is in the 60's in the Mexican Riviera during this time, and I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this? Thanks!!!

We have been on both Mexican Riviera and a Carribean cruise. They were both nice.

The Mexican Riviera had nice ports to visit. Cabos had nice beaches, Mazatlan, nice shopping and Puerto Villarta was amazing to tour around with great shopping right at the pier. We travelled at the mid of November and the weather was awesome! Low to mid 80's. The water was a little rough on some days. But we were travelling behind a hurricane.

We did the Caribbean at the beginning of December. The high's of 85. Puerto Rico - not that thrilling to us., St. Thomas - fantastic place - beaches are awesome, breathtaking sites, shopping a little expensive., St. Maarten - interesting beaches - we went to the non-nude beach and the nude came to walk by us on our beach. quite educational for my kids. lol - nice shopping close to the pier in St. Maarten.
Weather was awesome, sea calmer and bluer. a good time.
