I am sailing the Carnival Victory next week. I have one last question. Are the ruins better in Chichen Itza or Cancun? Also how far to Cancun from Playa Del Carmen? I appreciate any feedback you can provide.

To my knowledge there are no Mayan ruins in Cancun. I think someone was only using Cancun as a reference point. The two majors from Playa del Carmen and Cozumel are Chichen Itza and Tulum.

I can't say which is better, but we went to Chichen Itza and it was wonderful! Granted the ride to the ruins was an adventure in itself, but overall it was well worth the trip!
