We will be arriving in Miami the night before our cruise, does anyone have a suggestion on where to stay that doesn’t cost a fortune but is decent?

I agree with George. I advise you to visit the doubletree hotel. I recently vacationed in Miami and used their services. They have a good kitchen. It's a pity that my vacation was not as long as I wanted. After all, the weather was simply amazing. From there, I immediately flew to New York on a business trip, and, to be honest, I found a hotel that completely conquered me. Have you heard of Westgate New York Grand Central? If you are in New York, be sure to look there. ;)
By the way, have you noticed how the mood completely changes when the service in hotels and restaurants is at a really high level?

As a regular traveler, I declare that the service in hotels and restaurants affects not only the mood but also the impression of the city, of the area. After all, these are, in fact, one of the first places where guests, visitors go. Therefore, it seems to me that the state should support such a business in every possible way. It is a pity that it is now in decline due to the pandemic.
By the way, I heard about the hotel in New York that you mentioned! I think it's called Westgate New York Grand Central. There is really a high-level service there. I want to return to such a place again and again.
