Millenium Cabin #8172

I have reserved a trip on the Millenium to the Eastern Carribean. The room I reserved is #8172 in Category 1B. This is my first time cruise and I am curious whether this is a good choice. There was a lot of mention about the family cabin on the corners: but I have not heard a lot about 8172 in the aft of the ship. I would also like to know whether: 1) the room has a good view, 2) whether the noise from the top deck might cause a problem. Thanks in advance for your comments.

That cabin is a great cabin! Your balcony is much wider than the others in the same Category. Since you have a deck above you, there should be no problems from above. The aft cabins are tiered, so the forward part of your balcony can be viewed from above but the part closest to the sliders will be shaded and private.
The Family cabins FV are great because they are two divided rooms. Those in the corners are premium because their balconies are huge and wrap to the side. I wish I had a Cat. 1B in that location. I booked #7197 as a Cat. 1C before the changes. Our kids are in #7199 FV with my grandchildren.
I believe the majority of the vibration problems that Millie had have been fixed. They really only occurred during docking and leaving port - just vibration. During her inaugural, we were on Millie and met people from the Presidential suite. Their draws and doors would open all by themselves in the middle of the night!
Have a wonderful cruise.

I was in the Cat 3 cabin 8166 on the Millennium. Most of the noise problems are with the cabins on the Sky Deck. They have the Terrace Restaurant above them. As for the rooms themselves, the Cat 1 do not compare in size and features to the Cat 3's, now called FV cabins. But the aft cabins are great since they have large covered balconies.

If you give me your e-mail address I will send you a few photos of those balconies.

We have also reserved this cabin for the Sept 18/04 sailing from Venice to Barcelona. This is our first cruise with Celebrity and are really looking forward to it. We have read a lot of great reviews about the size of the balcony and wonderful views. Can hardly wait!!!

we are aussies just starting to think seriously about booking the millenium sept 18/04 cruise From Venice to Barcelona. This is my first time looking at this web site and the comments and reviews are so helpful. Will read some more and come back in when we've booked (probably next week). As my husband and I don't know anyone else travelling, we'd love to make contact with others plannig the same cruise. We are in our early 50's, have been on two cruises before, (Alaska- HAL, and Asia ).

Cheers
Irene
