I am sure that somebody that has sailed the ship itself will post about it but generally here's the answers as per sister ships.
Music: There will be an orchestra. big band (8-10 pieces) type for shows and the odd performance here and there throughout the ship. They can play great dance and jazz if they get the opportunity.
House band: Generally lead singer and 4 pieces that play the whole spectrum. These groups are generic to the ships and some groups are more solid than others but overall generally pretty good and quite versitile. (Every once in a while one of the guys can play the steel drums) They play the pool deck/lounge?/and the night club-disco. They do start to repeat themselves if you have cruised before but that won't be a problem for you...yet. There will be a duo that plays pre/post dinner in the Rendevous lounge and likely in some other place later. There will also be a piano player for lounge & dinner. Maybe somebody on the harp aso. Depends. Don't think I've forgotten anybody ???
Indoor spa area is great for relaxing and cool days. xtra's cost$$$$
Best bar: "The Martini Bar" before supper. Catch the group playing on the deck below and it's not too crowded.
Micheals club now is supposed to be a nice quiet piano bar. I'm looking fwd to that.

Hello Zenlauren,

I've just been on the Millenium Nov. 30/03 sailing. The "Energy Band" (pop group) plays at the Cosmos Club until 11pm then the DJ takes over until the wee hours of the morning. He plays a variety of music from the latins (salsa, meringue, etc) to the disco music. At the Rendezvous lounge, the "Unison Duo" plays waltz, foxtrot, swing, rumba, quickstep and chacha. "Regina Timmins", the harpist plays at the Cova Cafe Di Milano and "Rob Ragusa", the pianist plays at Michael's Club. There is also a guitarist that plays at the Ocean Cafe.

There are lots of things to do on-board. The activities and events will be outlined in the "Dailies" delivered in your cabin every night so you can plan ahead on what you want to do the following day.

Don't worry too much about what to expect as a first time cruiser. Just enjoy yourselves. Part of the fun is the day to day discovery that you will encounter. Don't forget to try the "Olympic Restaurant" for an awesome experience in fine dining. The "Chocolate Souffle" is to die for.

Hope you'll have a fun cruise. When do you sail?

P.S. For easy identification of your luggage at the pier after disembarkation, tie a colored ribbon in the handles. It will save you a lot of time in looking for them before you board the bus to the airport.

Sounds like the music types have been covered fairly well. Keep in mind other than the house band, duo's and musicians can change as they are on contract. Sometimes there are featured artists who perform in the main theater as well. Variety will be there for your enjoyment. As mentioned, before you go to bed each night, take a moment to glance at the next day's Daily. I bring a colored high lighter and hi-lite what I want to do the next day and when. The Thallostherapy Pool is not to be missed. Classical music is piped in for your relaxing pleasure. There is also Spa cuisine served in this area as well. Ice cream may be available in the buffet area during the day. Cooked to order omlets are available at the rear of the buffet restaurant just before going outside to the teak deck area. Notes has many pre-recorded CD's that you can also listen too on their headsets. Having a cup on your favorite coffee or tea in the Cova Cafe and listening to the cellist, is also a very relaxing event.
When do you sail? We will be on her again 2/22/2004.
Bon Voyage

Just returned from Mille. Don't miss the thalosotherapy pool, martini bar, and the show the last formal night. It's called Fantasea, an original Celebrity production. It's great!!
