Millie Class FV corner Cabins

My TA here in the UK says Celebrity will no longer book FV corner cabins (with the huge balconies) for couples. They will only book for 4 people ( 2 adults 2 children). These cabins were our main reason for sailing with Celebrity and we will definitely look elsewhere now. Is this reverse discrimination?? Celebrity website still allows a search for an FV for 2 people so I guess they have not updated it yet. has anyone else come across this policy yet?

I just looked in their new borchures and the FV cabins are now called FV Family Suites so they do indeed seem to be for familys only.

I checked with my TA after reading this because we have an FV booked for our Alaska cruise. She assured me this is not a fact since we are confirmed as a couple.

I had an AFT corner on the Millennium. I do not see how you can comfortably get 4 adults or older children in the cabin. First there are no over head pull down bunks. There are two small sofa beds in the sitting area. One is small love seat sized the other a bit larger. BUT... they both cannot be opened at one time. So the extra two people must SHARE one sofa bed. The cruise line does not tell you this.

Actually, you CAN get both sofabeds open at once. We had both kids on board our corner cabin on the Infinity, and this was their "bedroom." Even with both sofabeds opened up, there was plenty of room to get from the "adults bedroom" to the balcony. As far as reserving the cabin for families only, I would be very surprised if the cruise line could get away with this. They already upped the ante when they declared (and priced) them "family suites." Used to be something like "superior ocean view with balcony" or something less descriptive. GREAT cabins, though!

They must have fixed the problem since I was on the Millennium. You could not open them both in our cabin.

we've got Constellation booked for 12/18. 3 adults - third person charge for the third, so it appears they do book as double. We toured the cabin on departure day last April, and it looks like it can easily hold 4 adults. Incredible closet space, but the bathroom is the regular size.

You can most certainly book a FV without a family, but there are certain cruises where they anticipate more families and may block them specifically for families.

As for the sofabeds, there are two types. One "flips" into a twin bed and the other opens as a normal sofa bed - queen size.

Just got off the Connie two weeks ago. The family cabin deck 8 portside was occupied by a couple who raved about how much room they had. Just two of them, but they entertained a lot.

We are a couple and had a corner FV last Sept on the Infinity to Hawaii and have another one booked for April 2005......Hope they don't change their policy as we love the extra room and romantic nights on the verandah...........

Mach,
I don't think your travel agent is correct. I just got off the Infinity to S.A in Feb and had one and am booked Constellation 9/04 in another one. My wife and I love this cabin. Don't tell to many people about it, or they will book it all up.
