We're booked on the Grand Princess in AC mini-suites on the Dolphin deck. I understand these balconies are exposed to the balconies above. Are there any cabins in the same category (AC) that do not have exposed balconies?

Yes, Emerald Deck - AD (aft). Very popular rooms are E728 & E729. Balconies are larger than other mini-suites with a full view to the rear of the ship.

Thanks ocean.queen - we have 6 staterooms booked - I guess we'll have to live with what we have.

The only problem I have with the exposed balconies are weather related, not privacy related. I have never felt like someone is staring down at me. But, when the balcony is fully exposed, enjoying in the middle of the day on a sunny sea day is not very comfortable. Also, rain can have a dampening effect on balcony usage.

But, I love the center ship mini-suites I usually get on the Grand. So, I sacrifice a little :).

Maybe I wasn't clear...there are 12 mini-suites with covered balconies on Emerald deck (they are all aft). The two I mentioned are very desirable because of the view.

The exposed balconies are ok...just don't forget and walk out the first morning with a skimpy nighty on!! I turned around and everyone above was smiling at me :)

Thanks ocean.queen

After looking at the Grand deck plan I realized what you were saying. I'm assuming staterooms E718 - E729 are what your talking about. Thanks for the answer I should have looked at the deck plans first.
