me and the hubby have decided to take $1000 dollars with us for our 7 day cruise on the destiny (half to spend half for sail&sign) we haven't found any excursions that we liked and plan on doing a little gambling, we aren't heavy drinkers but we do drink just wanted to know if this would be enough or should we look into taking more?

I think $1000 is a fine amount, first you have to consider taking out tip money... $10 per person per day, $70 a person * 2 = $140, that would be on your S&S though. The remaining $860 would be your spending money for both alcohol and excursions. If you aren't heavy drinkers then you will probably have money left over by the end of the cruise.

Hello,

My first cruise was for 7 days, my husband and I brought $2000 1/2 for sail and sign and the other we put in the safe, out of that he got a 2 hr massage, we both did an excursion, and he bought me a 3 karat diamond tennis bracelet from St. Marting ( witch we go a phenominal price on..$450.00 ..I got home and it was appraised at 2100.00 well worht it ;)), In addition to our bar bill and gambaling...I would say that 1000 dollars is enough...but I would suggest maybe closer to 1500.00 if you do not want to have to worry about being strapped.... it goes faster then you would think.

I think $1000 should be fine. My husband and I aren't big drinkers either. We have never spent more than $800 for a 7 day cruise and that has included the few drinks we had, excursions at the ports, shopping, spa services and beauty services. I like to spend a day in the salon getting a massage, pedicure and having my hair done for the one formal night and all of that gets to be expensive. My husband does a little gambling but not much. We have always done what we've wanted to do on our cruises and have found that we've never gone over that $800. Not that we were trying to keep it under a certain amt. that's just the way it turned out.
