Hello,

We will be on the HAL Zandaam on 3/6. Our stops are Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Montego Bay. This is our first cuise so I would appreciate the wisdom of our more experienced travelers.

What is the best way to book excursions? via the ship or directyly? If directlt, can you give some sites?

In Cozumel, we will be SCUBA diving.

In Grand Cayman we were thinking of the plane ride over the island and then the "sub" trip that HAL offers.

In Monetgo Bay we were thinking of Dunn's RIver Falls, but I'm not sure how long the drive over to Ocho Rios is. Anyone done this or have a better idea?

Thanks!

Rob

It's a long drive to Ochos Rios. Contact Carolyn Barrett at www.barrettadventures.com and see what she recommends. She knows the island and gives great tours depending on what you like to do and see. She has a 15 passenger van. Seats 12 comfortably. You can book her for the day with your own itinerary and then go on this web site and invite others to join you. You'll be surprised how many responses you get.
If you fill the van with 12, per person cost for the day would be between $20 and $30 plus entry fees. We booked her and were driving away from the dock an hour before the people that booked with the ship could get organized. In one day, we went to beautiful Rose Hall Beach, Shopped at a "Friendly" craft market, drove into the hills to see a village, Ate at a great local Jerk Stand and then topped it off at Margaritaville. We loved Jamaica while others were afraid to get off the ship because of stories they heard about pushy vendors, pickpockets, etc...
