Most of the restuarants have bottled or filtered water they use to cook/clean with.....So it should be safe. It's the small places I'd be afraid of....When we were in Majahual (costa Maya) we ordered sodas and they brought them in a can and with a glass of ice. We told them to take the ice back and we drank out of the can. It's just better be safe then sorry later on!
