Hey thanks everyone for your info on Millie's pools. Much appreciated. Here's a couple more....

I'm going Concierge class in March---Has anyone sailed CC and what did you think?

Is it fairly easy to get a lounge chair by the pool?

How is the Casino? Anyone win?

How is the champagne bar?

Thanks again!!! Can't wait to sail!!!=COOL

Concierge class is worth the price, in my opinion. You get the largest non-suite cabins on the ship, with a number of perks like
a bottle of welcome aboard champagne, canapes each evening, and fresh flowers in your room. If you are a Captain's Club member,
you get double credit for a 7 night cruise.

Poolside lounge chairs can be difficult to come by on sea days, but otherwise are usually available. And, if you are willing to go up
one deck, there are always plenty of loungers available. The toughest chairs to come by are those inside, by the T-pool. Simply
because that area is much smaller, and there are fewer chairs to begin with, and due to its popularity, these chairs go early almost
every day.

The casino is fine, in my opinion. It is, however, like every casino on the face of the earth. The odds favor the house, and more people
lose than win.

The champagne bar and martini bar share a large space that attracts a lot of business, particularly before dinner each evening as people stop in to have a pre or post dinner drink. In my experience, the martini bar has triple the number of customers than the
martini bar, though that may simply reflect the relative proportion of people who prefer one over the other. If you go after the second
seating, both will be quieter and the service will be less rushed. Also, do not overlook having a drink, including champagne if you like,
at the Cova Cafe prior to dinner. They usually have live entertainment at that time that we find enjoyable, and its a nice spot for a drink.

We have traveled CC and would only do it again if the $ difference is pretty small to upgrade.
Haven't traveled on the Millie but Martini Bar on the Infinity is one of our favorite places. The millie still has the open circle to the floor below I believe where the Infinity has the while filled in and a Jazz group playing. The

FYI Champagne Bar is on the smoking side of the ship:(

I certainly agree with Ted on the quiet spot after and between seatings. Many a show has been passed up in the past and I'm sure the future just to enjoy persons company we have met onboard or are traveling with.

Actually, she was refurbished after 2000....but not for at least two years. She's in the most need of refurbishing...usually they do them every 3-4 years tops. I would call Captains Club and ask for the exact last date of dry dock. Infinity/Constellation were just dry docked last 12 months. New upgrades on Infinity/Constellation will be standard on all 4 M class within 6 months....meaning Millie is due any time.

FYI BOB - Infinity like all M Class have the open circle looking down to the Rendevous Lounge from Martini/Champage Bar above....

Full review on Constellation 1/28 sailing posted on Monday or Tuesday....just got home late last night. =sleep

Hey Mike,
They don't "advertise" that info for obvious reasons...but if you're a Captains Club Member, they will look up the dry dock date for you and tell you if it was just for the POD issues - NOW FIXED FOR GOOD!!!!!!! - mechical stuff - or a full refurbish. They'll even tell you who the entertainers will be.

Hi:

I was not sure if you were kidding or not about the POD issues being - "now fixed for good". I called Celebrity Captains Club, before my Summit cruise in 2006 and they told me the very same thing! They said "the pod problem only happened one time before and it had been fixed for good". My cruise wound up having the very same pod problems and since my cruise in 2006, the pods have failed four more times, twice on the Infinity and twice on the Millennium. So, that line from Celebrity always brings a smile to my face. If the day ever comes when all of the Celebrity m-class ships are able to sail for a couple of years with out a pod failure, then you might say that they have been fixed, until that time one just never knows when the next failure might be.

Hey WR

MAY 2007 last Pod fix. Already a record eh???
Your posts need to start taking a bit of a positive angle soon don't you think :)
2006 seems so long ago now......

I promise to keep on top of their poor record.

Actually, it was forever before they would even fess up there WAS a POD issue...ha. Public relations and all that.

But I believe the Captain. Our conversation was off the record and I've known him for many years. I believe (Bob can correct me here) we are coming up on our one year anniversary of no POD issues...do you know how many M class sailings there have been in that time with no reported issues?

Trust me darlin Wave Runner....you're safe as a baby in a floating crib. Get back on that horse!!

Hi Conniemc:

You are right it was a very long time until Celebrity would fess up there IS a POD issue. I am not sure that I would call hiding this problem from the public was a Public relations gesture, or the fact that Celebrity customer service, for years, has denied that there is any possible POD problem, and I would think that many would call it not being honest about a known problem, but that is just a matter of opinion. You were also correct about the fact that it has been just over eight months since the last reported POD failure on a Celebrity m-class ship.

There are many good points about Celebrity's great service, food and entertainment and my experiences have found this to be true. I think that
Bob made a good point that maybe what Celebrity did to passengers in 2006 is now history. To move into a more current time frame, let me say that the Millennium sailed with POD problems from January 1, 2007 until dry dock in mid April, 2007 and the Infinity also sailed with the same POD problems from November 19, 2006 until May 20, 2007. For certain there are many more cruises that don't have these problems but if my math is correct that would make about 35 weeks of cruises that Celebrity chose not to go to dry dock, for repairs, and left all those passengers on those cruise for 35 weeks, in 2007 alone, on a ship that could not maintain the designed speed and therefore wound missing many ports, and many late arrivals. When you look at the big picture there is no other cruise line that has a record that would even approach this horrible record.

As I said, there are many great things about Celebrity, and I would leave it up to the readers to decide if this possible problem is worth taking a chance is worth it.

At the end of the day there are probably only 1 or 2% of all passengers who even know of great cruise information web sites such as cruise-addicts and even fewer that are aware of this on-going possible problem. While we can agree to disagree about how significant of this problem is, it is great that we all can share information.

Around 2004 Celebrity put out a press release that the POD problem had been permanently fixed, so I take what ever anybody at Celebrity says with a huge grain of salt. I am far more interested in actions and track records, than words. I hope to "get back on the horse" but I will have to wait a few years without POD failures and then I would love to cruise the Infinity, Summit and Millennium again.
