Motion after the cruise

Hello all,
We returned from a wonderful cruise on the Conquest on Sunday. No motion problems while cruising, but once we returned I noticed it. 3 days later and the house is still rocking. Have tried Bonine to no avail. Also lots of sleep. Any other suggestions? Ladies that cruised with me apparently not having the same problem. Thanks for any hints you share.

How do your ears feel? It is possible that you might have an inner ear infection. Any cold symptoms at all -- runny stuffy nose, scratchy throat or anything? Especially since you feel very tired... you could be getting a virus or something. More often than not I get a cold shortly after arriving home from vacation. I had an inner ear infection once -- felt just like motion sickness but it wasn't. You may want to see your doc.

Also... I forgot...it is normal to feel like you are still on the ship for a few days after you return. I like that feeling! Your symptoms sound more severe than that, though.

Hello,
I was dizzy for a week after my last cruise. My husband had no problems at all. I have had friends that have gone both ways. It just is different for different people.

Hope this helps.

Looks like a cold or sinus as half my head stuffed up. No worries, though, sudafed or something to the rescue. Thanks for all the info. Looking forward to another cruise someday!

Last Saturday, I had supper at Wendy's, was walking to a table and tipped my soda all over while sitting. Dang floor was still moving LOL. It's been 2 weeks!

I have had the same problem after my cruises. The last time was really bad. I was walking into walls and my co-workers teased me about drinking on the job. The last day of my cruise I met a doctor that told me to take ginger supplements for a month before my next cruise and it would help. My next cruise will be in May 2004. If anyone wants to try this before I go please let me know if it works. My symtons lasted 8 days but it has not discouraged me from cruising.

Update on motion: Ended up at Doctors today feeling foolish..hoping I wasn't wasting my money. I was not. Sinus infection on one side of head. Oddly enough, told him I thought I was getting a cold before I left....we talked....apparently I had infection whole trip, but all snorkeling kept my head 'irrigated' and symptoms at bay! He said other than the usual remedies, he recommend returning and more snorkeling...a bit expensive though! At least he has a great sense of humor....thanks ya'll.

Morale of the story...got a sinus problem? Go snorkeling! YES!!

We leave tonight to Florida and sail on Glory tomorrow afternoon. At times I have sinus problems, so I think that I will try the snokling thing. Since it is a medical reason for it do you think it could be tax deductable? ;>

Wheee!! I am getting excited!!
