If the Caribbean Princess and the Diamond are sisters, do they both have movie screens at the pool?

The line announced this afternoon that response has been so stunningly positive to concept on Caribbean Princess, which is now on its inaugural cruise, that they will be installing the 300-square-foot LED screens and 69,000-watt sound systems on each of their Grand-class ships in the Caribbean: Grand, Golden and Star Princess.

Not sure about the Diamond and Sapphire since they have a different funnel treatment because of the gas turbines.

Caribbean has no sisters....yet. It came from Fincantieri, Diamond & Sapphire are sisters from Mitsubishi.

I'm anxious to hear how the movie screen and "theater" will affect the ambiance of the ship itself. We love to walk the decks in the evening with the only sound being the movement of the ship through the water. I can watch a movie any day of the week but it's only once in a while that I get away from the world on a cruise ship. I guess we'll find out when we sail her in November. Anyone else concerned about this?

Yeah jason--I'm VERY concerned about this. The beauty of cruising for me is to gaze at & listen to the ocean. It's the most peaceful place on earth.
A cruise vacation is my chance to "vacate"; to empty & relieve the stress brought on by work and family. So the LAST thing I'd want is to be bombarded by a 'state of the art' movie/sound system.
If Princess puts these on their ships they'll DEFINATELY lose me as a customer.

Thank god for Celebrity.

don't be concerned folks
you could only hear the tv in the tv area the ship is still quiet and the water sounds are not affected by this they put a glass partition around this area so as to buff the sound however the tina turner broadcast was very very loud I like tina so this was ok with me lol Jen

I hope they put this on my ship in time for my Jan sailing, I think it would be an added attraction to the ship. These ships are very long so I wouldn't think it would disrupt the whole length of the ship and this might give us a reason to stay up later and use the hot tubs at night.

69,000 watt sound systems?! I feel the delicate ownership hand of Carnival Cruise Lines in this...If the pool band wasn't loud enough, this should kill the last few synapses to your auditory organs!
