Awaiting results of mental evaluation
Hotel: OK. We're booked into the Holiday Inn Express - Downtown. Arriving the afternoon of the 13th.

Transfers: Arrival - Will be reserving a limo from Sea-Tac to the HIE once we have out flights locked in. Embarkation- Figuring on a cab on the 14th. Debarkation -Will get a HAL transfer to Sec-Tac.

Shore Excursions: Now, I'm starting to go over the HAL shore excursions and compare them to direct bookings. Any recommendations?

Ketchikcan / Sitka / Skagway / Anchorage / Homer / Kodiak / Juneau / Victoria

We are staying at the Bayside Marriott -- already have plane tickets.

Will book AlreadyThereTownCar for the ride from airport to hotel and for the ride from the ship to the Hilton SeaTac at the end of the cruise. Will use a taxi to go from hotel to Pier 91.

Only new ports for us is Kodiak and Homer -- don't know what we will do there.

Forever Remembered
I always enjoy visiting the Raptor Rehabilitation Centre in Sitka - can either be reached by ship's tour or on your own by taxi.

You have quite a long day in Anchorage - there's a wildlife centre not too far from the city that exhibits wildlife that's native to that part of the world. It was snowing lightly when I was there in early March several years ago. There are also quite a few sightseeing options in the Kenai Peninsula - but I recommend HAL tours for everything because of the distances involved. Cook Inlet is named after the famous Captain Cook - Turnagain Sound got its name (so we were told) because Captain Cook went only so far and decided to "turn again".

We'll just miss each other by a few days as I sail Volendam June 2-9 round-trip Vancouver.

We did the Raptor Center in Sitka a few years ago -- took a taxi.

In 2001 we stayed in Anchorage for several days before we did the south bound cruise on the Ryndam. So we pretty much saw everything there. It is a long day there -- just don't know what we will do there this time.
