The sea itself is the common denominator for three fascinating and ambitious projects: the Tall Ships Race 2007 Mediterranea; Shosholoza's participation in the upcoming 32nd America's Cup; and the launching ceremony for MSC Cruises' new flagship - MSC Orchestra.

Pierfrancesco Vago, CEO of MSC Cruises, will explain today on board MSC Musica the reasons for being involved in these important projects. "It's the love and passion for the sea and the unique emotions that we get from it," Vago says. "Emotions that our guests can experience on board our cruise ships and that we have found in the Tall Ships and Shosholoza philosophy, such as teamwork and the great passion and commitment for our work, are values in which we recognise ourselves."

Thanks to MSC Cruises' sponsorship, the Tall Ships return to Genoa as the regatta comes to the Mediterranean with the final races taking place in Genoa from 28 to 31 July 2007. This event will give the city the opportunity to put on an incredible show and provide entertainment that will attract tourists and visitors.

"We are very pleased to bring back to Genoa, a city of maritime history and tradition, one of the most spectacular and prestigious event that the sea can offer." says Matteo Bruzzo, President of STAItalia. "We will host 60 Tall Ships in the old port with young crews coming from all over the world that are just now coming to the yachting world with its deep values of solidarity and commitment."

For the South African team that is participating for the first time in the America's Cup it is a dream cometrue: "We created this project to teach youngsters to sail, along with the values of teamwork and commitment, and our dream is that one day our school will become a fully-operational boarding establishment with a formal academic curriculum," says Captain Salvatore Sarno. "The America's Cup celebrates the pride that we have in our country and shows that passion and commitment can lead to great results."

MSC Cruises strengthensits leading role in the cruise industry with its extraordinary expansion: "Our newest flagship, MSC Orchestra," says Domenico Pellegrino, General Manager of MSC Crociere, "will be launched on 14 May in Civitavecchia; this will represent another step towards leadership."
