MSC Cruises Has Just Posted the Following:

In winter 2009, the star of the Mediterranean sea will be the new flagship MSC Fantasia: the most beautiful ship in the world, outfitted with all of the comforts you could possibly want, including a VIP area, the MSC Yacht Club,with 100 suites furnished with refined taste, a reserved restaurant area, private access to the fantastic onboard MSC Aurea Spaand exclusive service with a personal butler available round the clock.
MSC Fantasia will be joined in the Mediterranean by MSC Poesia, the queen of style christened by Sophia Loren earlier this spring.
MSC Fantasia
Departure from Genoa on 5, 16 and 27 January and 7 and 18 February 2009 (with the possibility of boarding in Civitavecchia the day before) for an 11-night cruise in the Western Mediterranean.
The ship will head towards Barcelona, where guests can choose between a pleasant stroll through the lively Ramblas districtor a guided tour of the old town, with a stop at Gaudi's Sagrada Familia. After a technical stop in Gibraltar, it will be time to visit Funchal on the island of Madeira for a tour through the picturesque countryside of vineyards and sugar cane farms. The next stops will take place at the Canary Islands - in Tenerife to admire the nature and taste of the characteristic local cheeses, and in wild Arrecife for a trip through caves and underground saltwater lakes. We will then travel back to Spain and stop in Malaga, from where we will depart to visit Granada and tour the Alhambra and the Generalife gardens. The last stop is Civitavecchia, where guests can choose between visiting the Imperial Fora and touring the remains of the Roman-era port in Ostia.

In winter 2009, the ship of elegance and style will offer four different itineraries in the Eastern and Western Mediterranean.
Greece, Egypt, Cyprus and Turkey (11 nights).
Departure from Genoa on 26 November 2008, 9 January and 5 March 2009, with the possibility of boarding in Naples or Civitavecchia the day before.
The first stop is Katakolon where we will visit the perfectly-conserved archaeological site of Olympia. The next stop is Athens, for a guided tour of the city and a visit to the splendid museum of the Acropolis, then the island of Rhodes, where we will spend the morning wandering through the characteristic narrow streets. The ship will then set course for Alexandria, Egypt, where guests can choose between visiting the Valley of the Kings or Cairo and its famous Egyptian Museum. After a stop in Limassol on the island of Cyprus followed by Marmaris in Turkey, the ship will reach Iraklion on the island of Crete, from where we will go to discover the legendary Palace of Minos. The last stop is Naples and its unique gulf.

Departure from Genoa on 20 January and 11 February 2009, with the possibility of boarding in Naples or Civitavecchia the day before.
The first stop is Ajaccio to visit its beautiful old town and the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte. We will continue on to Messina, the city on the strait, near Taormina, known for its lively social life and the perfectly-preserved Greek theatre, and then we will arrive on the lush island of Rhodes. Next call: Alexandria, to admire the pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mycerinus and the Valley of the Kings with the enigmatic Sphinx. More art in La Valletta, whose Cathedral houses the famous "Decapitation of St. John" by Caravaggio. After a stop in Tunis, where visitors can immerse themselves in the colours and scents of ancient Medina, the final call will be in Naples, where passengers can make an excursion to the archaeological site of Pompeii, the Roman city that was buried under the lava of Mount Vesuvius.
Spain, Morocco, the Canary Islands and Madeira (11 nights).
Departure from Genoa on 7 December 2008, 31 January, 22 February and 16 March 2009, with the possibility of boarding in Naples the day before and stopping in Civitavecchia.
The ship will set a course for Barcelona and Casablanca, mooring at Tenerife and stopping on Funchal on the island of Madeira. We will then return to Spain to visit Malaga before making a final stop in Civitavecchia.
Israel, Turkey, Greece and Croatia (11 nights).
Departure from Genoa on Friday, 27 March 2009 for Haifa and Ashdod, the two ports of the Holy Land.
The ship will then sail to "beautiful Izmir" in Turkey followed by the great port of Piraeus, from where we will depart for Athens to admire the Parthenon and all of its archaeological marvels. The last stop is Dubrovnik for a walking excursion through the characteristic streets of his old town centre. The ship will then reach the port of Venice where it will remain for the summer season.
