MSC Fantasia, the tenth ship to be launched by MSC Cruises and christened in Naples on 18 December 2008, will be based out of Genoa in 2009 and sail to a number of exciting Mediterranean destinations.

MAIDEN VOYAGE

Escape the winter blues and be one of the first to travel on board MSC Fantasia as she departed for her inaugural cruise on 20 December for nine days. She set sail from Genoa, visiting the ancient city of Rhodes with its enchanting white walls, Alexandria, known for its temperate winters, white sand beaches and magnificent scenery, before going onto Messina, the beautiful city of Naples and finally returning to Genoa. Christmas Day will be celebrated at sea, with all this fabulous new ship has to offer to toast and entertain her guests in a day filled with surprises.

A NEW YEAR WITH STYLE

To celebrate the New Year in luxury and style, MSC Fantasia set sail for a nine-day cruise last 28th December. She left from Genoa, visiting the lively city of Barcelona with a chance to experience the famous La Rambla, before going onto the historic city of Lisbon and its many landmarks, including the Christ King statue that overlooks Lisbon. She also called at Gibraltar, Malaga, and the fantastic monuments of Rome before returning to Genoa.

Start 2009 with some sun, sea and sand - MSC Fantasia will travel to destinations including Tenerife, perfect for its warm weather and beaches and the busy port of Arrecife in the Canary Islands as part of a 12-day late winter cruise. Departing in January and February from Genoa, she also calls at Barcelona, Gibraltar, Funchal, Malaga and Civitavecchia for Rome.
