MSC Cruises Has Just Posted the Following:
‘The most beautiful ship in the world', MSC Fantasia introduces an array of innovative concepts to cruising and is the largest ship to be commissioned by a European ship owner.
Whether it is enhanced customer experiences such as the interactive 4D cinema, Acqua Park, MSC Aurea Spa, teens arcade and disco or the latest eco technologies and features, there are so many reasons as to why MSC Fantasia is such a wonderful and unique ship.
At 133,500 tons, she is 333 meters long, 38 meters wide and 66.8 meters in height which is nine metres taller than the Eiffel Tower and six times the height of the Tower of Pisa. MSC Fantasia will have a maximum speed of 23 knots and propulsion of 40 mega watts. With 17 decks, the ship has 25 lifts, of which 2 are panoramic.
3,959 passengers and 1,325 crew members will sail on board MSC Fantasia, which hosts 107 suites and 1,637 cabins in total, including 43 for disabled persons. 80% per cent of the accommodation will be outside cabins, ranging from 18 to 65 square meters in size.
With over 27,000 square meters of public space, the common areas include the 1,700 square meter MSC Aurea Spa and Solarium, 4 outdoor bars and no less than 12 other indoor bars and lounges. In total, MSC Fantasia has 18 different bars. From the Sports bar and Cigar Room, to the Manhattan Jazz bar and Il Cappuccino Piano bar, there is something on board to suit every taste. Guests can find further entertainment in the Casino delle Palme, which covers 1,017 square meters, in L'Insolito Lounge, or at the stunning L'Avanguardia 1,603 seat theatre, which spans three levels. Then dance the night away at the 500 square meters Liquid Disco, where the walls shimmer in various colours and the ceiling appears to leak actual trickles of colour created in fuchsia - coloured resin.
She will be the first ship in the MSC Cruises fleet to offer the exclusive VIP area, MSC Yacht Club, with 99 spacious suites and exclusive access to facilities such as The One Bar, The One Pool with 2 spa baths and solarium and the Top Sail Lounge, where guests can enjoy stunning panoramic views over the bow of the ship. A personal butler service is on hand to help guests at check-in, offer a 24-hour room service, pre-book excursions and transfers, serve afternoon tea and assist in the selection of wines, champagne and cigars.
Sports facilities onboard include a squash court, shuffleboard, jogging track and MSC Arena, a sports centre offering a tennis court and basketball facilities. The Acqua Park is a new and exciting addition with more than 150 fountains and water jets, amusing swimmers by day and entertaining at night by lighting up to music. There are also another 3 public pools on board including the Lido Catalano, the Zen Area - where adults can relax in an area not open to children, l Tropici pool with retractable roof and Teen's Toboga pool with a water slide for children.
Of the 4 restaurants on MSC Fantasia, The French a la carte restaurant L'Étoile, Red Velvet and Il Cerchio d'Oro panoramic restaurants offer guests the finest of dining experiences. For the less formal, the El Sombrero Tex Mex, Zanzibar pizzeria and L'Africana cafeteria offer a wealth of choice. Wine lovers can unwind at La Cantina Toscana wine tasting bar.
Visit an Italian-style square at Piazza San Giorgio, where the ceiling appears as a summer's blue sky during the day and a starry night in the evenings, creating a romantic ambience. The piazza provides the perfect shopping experience, from Il Gioiello jewellery and La Boutique clothing, to Duty Free and accessories from L'Angolo dell'Oggetto. Keep the kids happy at La Caramella, with its traditional pick ‘n' mix sweets selection.
To keep children entertained, there are 400 square meters dedicated to younger guests straddling two decks with an array of clubs, discos and the virtual world arcade. Polo Nord is a fun area for young children, who can also play in the Mini Club.
Older kids can join the Junior Club or Teenagers Club. There is a dedicated area for teenagers only - no adults allowed - at I Graffiti, with a disco and karaoke.
