MSC Cruises Has Just Posted the Following:
MSC Cruises is preparing to welcome another jewel in the crown of its quickly expanding and modern fleet. MSC Orchestra will arrive from the shipyard in May, ready to cruise the seas and to carry everywhere the elegance of the Italian-styled cruise company.
This new addition to the fleet replicates the high standards of construction already employed by MSC Cruises and sets the benchmark for the larger ships in the fleet. MSC Orchestra will be christened in the port of Civitavecchia in May 2007 and will depart from Venice on 2 June 2007 for a fabulous itinerary around Greece, Turkey and Croatia.
MSC Orchestra's weight of 90,000 grt, its length of 293 metres and its width of 33 metres allow her to host 3,013 guests. As the sister ship to MSC Musica and MSC Poesia, MSC Orchestra is an innovative ship that can guarantee an excellent level of comfort and well-being with impeccable service in an exclusive atmosphere.
Along with MSC Musica, MSC Orchestra signals the birth of a new type of cruise ship. Space and location of the various public areas are optimised to provide an excellent ratio between passenger capacity and onboard facilities. To satisfy passenger demand, 80% of the outside cabins have a balcony and sea views, providing comfort, privacy and quality. The 22,000 square metresof public space offer a large choice of facilities for all activities: five restaurants (L'Ibiscus, Villa Borghese, La Piazzetta, Four Seasons and the Shanghai Chinese Restaurant), 10 bars - two of which are open-air - three meeting and conference rooms,plus lots more.
Particular attention has been paid to the daily contact between guests and crew and to the quality of products and gastronomic services.
Studio De Jorio Design International of Genoa designed the public areas. The objective is to blend the interior design and choice of colours with the architectural and technical brief.
