MSC Cruises Has Just Posted the Following:

MSC Crociere’s commitment to the environment safeguard announced for the newest units includes also other ships of the fleet. In particular MSC Sinfonia has recently entered into the drydock to set up onboard new equipments and systems in respect of the environment. The first phase of these works include the sandblasting of the keel and its renewal with silicon paint, an outstanding antifouling and non-toxic paint in respect of marine environment. MSC Sinfonia was coated with Intersleek 970 in compliance with the IMO Antifouling Systems Convention of 2001. Intersleek 970 does not contain any active ingredients.The underwater hull was fully grit blasted and an epoxy anticorrosive scheme applied prior to application of the above antifouling coating. MSC Sinfonia 58.625 gross tons, 777 cabins with a capability of 2.087 guests in its cabins is equipped with engines powered with low sulphur consumption and with all the equipments to compact, to burn to ashes, to grind aluminium, glass, plastic, paper and wood. MSC Sinfonia has been submitted to ordinary maintenance works concerning the furnishings, armchairs and sofas, curtains and carpets in the following lounges : Shelingh’s House, English Pub, Ambassador Cigar Room, Area Reception, Manhattan Bar, Cafè Le Baroque, San Remo Casino, Buddha Bar, Il Covo Restaurant, Discoteca Pashà Club, Buffet.
