Great news! Did they give a reason? Lower fuel supplements? Port charges? Because you're a Cruise @ddict? Was this a one time thing (just your cruise), or across the board (all RCI cruises)?

Not sure if all Royal cruises dropped in price, so if you are booked check on the Royal Caribbean website for your up-coming cruise. Someone who is cruising the Voyager mentioned on another board that they got a price rate drop also.

Don't know why either, but I"m not complaining! =COOL

This will be my second time on Explorer! What a beautiful ship! Can't wait!!

This has been happening often lately. my cruise went down almost a thousand dollars.
maybe they are having a hard time filling up the rooms.

I'm thinking this too. With the economy suffering people don't want to be spending the money. So you gotta sweeten the deal. Mine went down with a residency rate so I upgraded my room for more than half what it would have cost me regularly. I've also been keeping an eye on the alaska ones, I don't know why since I'm not going till 2010 and those won't be out for a few months, but I noticed they had some residency rates that weren't there earlier this year. Sucks the economy sucks so bad but I'm gonna take advantage of it. Everyone should check on theirs. Call your travel agent or whoever or go online and search for your cruise, and make sure you put in the state you are from, and see if there are any specials. They will adjust the price for you even if you are completely paid off.

Well for certain dates in late May and early June of this year michigan residency rates were added recently that were there a few months ago.

Hi,

Congratulations!

We booked our cruise on the Freedom in Oct. 2008 for the Nov. 30 2008 sailing. It went down $1500.00. I was thrilled. Nothing changed on the ship, they certainly didn't cut corners. I think they wanted to fill the ship up at the last minute. So I would keep checking with your agent.
Have a wonderful cruise.

I just heard on our local news tonight that cruise bookings were way down right now for this summer. So maybe they will offer some great deals. They also said that most bookings have been happening 60 days out instead of the more advanced bookings they usually see, but I'm assuming that is a worldwide statistic since we don't have any cruises (that I know of) that would be sailing in only 60 days.

I've been trying for days to get in touch with my RC rep but he's not returning my calls....funny, I didn't have this problem until AFTER I paid in full. GRRR

I am taking an Alaska cruise at the end of May, my price dropped $900. Which is good, beacuse I went right around and gave them back the money for shore excursions.

Which one are you doing? Northbound, Southbound or one of the round trip ones? You'll have to say how it is. Not like it will stop me from going since I will probably have 2010 booked by the time you get back but I would still like to see. I can't wait for that one.

We too booked last June for August of 09 on the Explorer and ours has only gone up. We are sailing on the 6th out of Bayonne. I am so excited and I would more thrilled if the price went down!
