How do I find out what there is to do?
Good info above, but I'm wondering if the answer you need is this: Being that it is your very first cruise, you might not realize that all ships have their own daily newsletter. On Celebrity it's simply called "The Daily". (Like "The Millennium Daily" "The Mercury Daily", etc) There will be one for the first day of the cruise waiting for you in your cabin. And then, every evening, your cabin steward will leave another one for the following day.
The Daily paper will list everything there is to know about the day on-board: Meal times, (restaurants, buffets, etc.) show times, night club hours, fitness club and spa hours. There will be games on the list (Newlywed, Lier's Club etc) and meetings (ie: port talks, Friends of Bill W, religious services, etc, ) and demonstrations (ie: ice carving, napkin folding) as well as activities (ie: trivia, bingo, dance classes, art auctions ) It will tell the suggested dress for the day, and the theme of the night, (if there is one). It will highlight the port stop for the day, and tell the time you will arrive there, and when you must be back on board. It will include ads to tell you who will be performing that night (magicians, comics) not just the time, And always some ads to tell you what featured items they'll be selling in the onboard shops that night.
Take a highlighter pen along to mark your Daily for the activities that interest you, so you won't forget.
If you do a search you will likely find copies of the Daily from past cruisers, posted on line, so you can get an idea of what to expect.
