My majesty of the seas impression

Hi all,

Well yesterday i got back from a 3 days bahamas cruise with the Majesty which included Coco-Cay and Nassau.
That was my first cruise so i cant realy compare the ship to other cruise lines or other RCI ships, But i have to say i was realy impressed!

I dont know how the Majesty looked like before the renovation but right now it looks realy nice. We got an ocean view room too so that was nice too. The staff and the service was in my opinion top class. They realy did everything to make people pleased..
The food.. Wow, alot of food and great food too. I even skipped 2 dinners at the moonlight dinning room and just went to the windjammer and every night i ended up eating pizza at Sorretos.
The bars, the casino, the food, the service, Everything was great.

One thing that for me was a little buzz kill are the activities and shows. It seems like the activitis and shows are more directed towards families and kids and less twoards adults.

We loved this cruise so much that we are already thinking on the next one, probably next year.. Europe sounds good :)

By the way, from FLL airport it took us 3 busses to get to miami port and it costs us a total of $2.50.. I didnt realize its that cheap to go on a bus there

While docking in Nassau, the voyager of the seas was docking next to us (also the carnival but the RCI looked bigger than the carnival) and it looked bigger than the majesty and i read it has ice skating inside which sounds good.

How is the voyager? Do you have any expirience with it and you can compare it to the majesty?

Thanks

I have been on the Voyager twice, the Explorer, the Navigator and the Mariner 3x.........all are the same class as the VY that you saw..........

It is twice as big........the Mariner is the newest outta the fleet........I like it the best because it is only a 2 hr drive to the port for me..........Plus it has a wine bar(Vintages)..the Navigator also has Vintages, but the others dont.......

They all have ice skating, mini golf, roller blading, and inside promenade that looks like a city street.....plus tons of other stuff that the smaller ships dont have......

Heres my webshots site.........you can check out some of the above mentioned ships there.........

Like i mentioned before, a lot of the shows were for families and kids so since me and my girlfriend are 26 years old, we found ourselves not realy enjoying the shows.. so due to your expirience with some of the RCI ships, Is it like that with all RCI ships or some ships fit to different audience?

thanks again

The shows are not our thing either(and we're twice as old as you).........However, they usually have an adult comedian at midnight one night.plus they have Quest(and adult scavenger hunt==no kids allowed--did you go??)........basically the early shows are geared for all ages....we dont even go to those anymore.........

The bigger ships have really neat discos which are strictly for adults too......

I see.. At some point we stopped going to the shows too. The first night they had a comedian but hes jokes were more like PG 13.
The other night they had some songs show.. also too boring for me.
However later on they had Quest and some games.. I wouldnt say no kids were allowed but it was more with adult content than kids content.

I was checking the Mariner but the Mariner goes to caribbean only..There are a lt more places in the caribbean i havent seen yet, but i would like to try a europe cruise in a ship like the Mariner or the Voyager standard

Oops, just replied to your question on dress for formal night. Didn't realize you had already cruised. =dunno

If you're more into older comedy and performances, you need to go to the later shows - like after 9:30pm or 10pm. They usually post these in the daily newspaper that was in your cabin with a title like "mature audiences only" or something similar.

Also, the bars and show lounges (smaller ones) have a more adult atmosphere. Try another cruise & see what you think. Go for 7 nights this time though. :)
