Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers - here is the email I got from my sister this am.
Read Leah's blog. It tells the story best. Keep praying please. She is definitely out. Not sure how much damage - she heard three pops - hopefully they were not all tears. The hospital here in the town time forgot was not adequate and they said the MRI machine they had was not working - doubt they had one. Luckily the team doctor is an orthopedic surgeon and he has immobilized it and drugged her and today sometime or in the morning as today they travel to a larger city - Cuenca - it will get checked out and he will be able to get the MRI he needs for us to move to the next step. She is in quite a bit of pain and that is not good as the ACL s usually pain free after a few hours - just the initial tear. So it could be "other" injuries or tears as well - whatever that means. I am hoping and praying that his physical exam and diagnosis of ACL is wrong but also hoping the other damage is minimal. I am struggling with having allowed her to play (like I had any say in it ) knowing she was not 100% going in. She is amazing - she has no regrets and says now she knows she CAN play at that level for the future and has her sights set on the Olympics now a year away. She looked really good and strong right up to the point she lost her knee. I am not sure I will be able to watch her play again after yesterday
She was moaning in pain - unlike anything I have ever seen and I have seen ALOT of injuries in soccer. Please pray for her to heal. I know God's plan is perfect - I am not quite there yet - as always Leah's words are leading me. I think it is okay to be angry with God - my heart is in the right place - just trying to get my thoughts and emotions in line with it. Will keep you posted.
Love to all,
