WE have no kids so am strictly going by what we have heard from other cruisers. On the Sun we met a family with 3 kids: 8, 13 and 17. The 8 year old couldn't get enough of the kids club, the teens used it mainly to meet other kids and then mainly just as a meeting place. We have traveled on NCL with our grandkids and they did the same. The, then 10 year old loved the kids club, the 13 year old made her own fun after meeting the teens. I think this might be the case with lots of cruise lines. I am not sure teens go for the organized activities as much as the younger kids. We happen to love freestyle, though the service may not be as pampering, it is relaxed and suits us. I think it appears to be the wave of the future so guess we better all get used to it. It does seem to be more popular than a year ago. As said, Bingo is very expensive, but not being a big Bingo player I don't know how it compares with other lines. Lots of trivia games going on at almost all times which our family loves, plus the usual horse races a couple of days, etc. I believe one of the reasons there are not as many activities on some of NCLS ships is the itineraries. Most NCL ships have more ports than some other lines, thus they cut back on ship fun. I do miss some of the old activities.
