my review of ncl spirit

I am not going to pick your review apart as everyone has his/her own ideas, I will just mention a couple of things: 1-cruises to nowhere are never the same as normal cruises, they are usually considered party cruises with the majority of the guests intending to do just that. 2-the number thing for check in< I believe or it has been our case those numbers do mean something. Latitude members get lower numbers which is the way it should be. I could be wrong about that. As for the size of everything, the Spirit was designed for Asian travel so yes, everything is slightly scaled down. Too bad you didn't do a little homework before you booked the cruise. You may have chosen another.. The rest of your review, is your opinion and you have every right to it. There is a reason there are so many cruise lines out there, not everyone likes the same things. Oh, I do have one more comment, you mentioned 5 dining rooms that charge extra, you didn't mention they have as many or more free choices than most lines, yes, the 2 main dining rooms, the buffet, the grill and Blue Lagoon.

the blue lagoon...$10 cover charge, the grill ...only until dinner was being served at 5:30, and had cooked the burgs. med rare. also forgot to mention that there is a price list of just about all the items in the cabin in case anyone feels the need to leave with certain items like the sugar bowl and maybe a pillow case($10) up to the $85 bathrobes. I can understand the need to include the prices for the bathrobes and the pool towels, but I find it tacky to provide a price list of everything in the cabin, right down to the bed linens. I have been on other cruise lines and they only mention the robes and towels. Next time I'll stay with carnival.

well if the Blue Lagoon has a $10 cover charge that is new in the last day or so???? I have a bit of trouble thinking there is a $10 charge for a restaurant that serves noting but Wings, hamburgers and fish and chips or pretty much that is what they serve..

Just checked with 3 sourses, my boss, a NCL rep and NCL directly, La Tratoria, the Itanian dining room does have a $10 charge, Blue Lagoon does not. With so many restaurants to choose from I guess you just got them confused....:daisy

Or maybe they decided to add the charge for just that one sailing, seems pretty unlikely. Did you see the $10 posted somewhere?

I do a bit of business travel (on land) and have run in to those price lists for room amenities pretty often, lately. People have sticky fingers, I guess. Everything stolen just adds to the bill of those of us who are honest.

I'm sorry your cruise wasn't what you expected. I feel the same way about Carnival lines. Won't travel on Carnival again...unless of course there's an itinerary unique to them, or a special program on a Carnival ship that I can't find elsewhere...

We have nevver had this experience on a ship (yet) or a hotel, but did when using a time share. Yes, at first I was set back a little as we had to even count the silverware servings, list the toaster, pots, etc. After I got over the shock I realized it wasn't their fault but the fault of those who think what belongs to someone else could belong to them. Do people realize, every time even a glass or towel is taken, multiply that by 100 what it is costing the cruise line or hotel. Those costs are passed onto us.
