mystery email received

Hi, I sent an alternative email address to everyone on my email address list and received a 'personal' message from someone named Trinity-Janine and she did not mention where she knew me from. If I know you from C@ please PM me so I will know that I already know you. I wonder if Yahoo sold my email address to a mass mailing list??
I know I get some spam at my new email, but this one sounds like a friend.

Tom from CC always asks that if we ever email him to put CC in our subject line so he will know we are legit. Sounds like a great idea to me when we make a first contact with someone we have never corresponded with before.

tks, Mariposa

I like the idea of putting C@ in the subject line ...

Has been a lot of spam lately purporting to be a 'friend' who hasn't spoken to me in awhile. Always check ...

I was getting a ton of spam that were supposed to be from a friend/classmate/relative/co-worker. When an e-card or post card IS sent from someone you know, it usually says the persons name has sent it..not just "a friend" or "your classmate" etc. By the same token, if I don't know who it's from, I don't open it, even if it has someone's name. If it was someone you knew, you'd more than likely recognize the name.
