Nassau - Atlantis Questions

I'm sailing on Carnival Fantasy this spring and I plan to visit the Paradise Island Atlantis resort. Which areas are open to non-hotel guests? I'm interested in the casino, beach and aquarium. I would imagine that beach access is limited to guests. I've heard of cruise guests booking hotels at nearby hotels that have agreements with Atlantis for their guests to use the facilities. Does anyone know which hotels claim this benefit, and where I can verify it? Since we're at port overnight I thougt it might worthwhile to book a room, although I'd prefer to not to spend $500/night just to use a beach and swimming pool.

Casino and restaurants are freely accessible. For a $25 per person fee, you can tour the aquarium; beaches are off limits to all but registered guests. Yes, some of the adjacent hotels have special arrangements with Atlantis; not sure which ones or what they might charge for a room.

We went to the casinos, and one resteraunt has a nice little aquirium you can walk by, but other wise you do need to be a guest to enjoy the amenities. The aquirium you can see, but only guests can use the slide through the shark tank, so we did not pay to see it. That I would have paid for. We did win $60 in the Casino, and the hotel is fun to take pictures, but that is about the extent of the fun. If you can pay the room charge, that is the only way to truely enjoy. I looked at the menu at the restaurants and had the same dinner for free the night before on the ship that they charged $50/plate for, that is a clue too. It is fun to walk along the docks and look at yachts.

The resort that you can book adjacent to the atlantis that gives you all the access to the pools beach spa, and slides is called the comfort suites paradise island, they do allow one day bookings up to 4 people in a room, and if you check in early and the room is not ready they just give you a pass to go to the atlantis and go ahead and use the facilities, i did this when in nassau last year, it cost 85.00 per person when all was said and done for 4 people and we had access to the entire resort, any food and purchases you make at the atlantis will be charges to your room at comfort suites... which is great

The Comfort Suites is the way to go at the Atlantis, it is directly across the street and about $250.00 cheaper per night then staying at the actual resort. I stayed there in August for a week with a whole group of people and we had free access to everything at the Atlantis including the water slides and beach. It is so nice and so much fun there.
