And the Dawn is one of NCL's newest ships, only a couple of years old. Frankly, its a shame you didn't get to go to Nassau, but NCL did provide compensation. There are a number of ships from different lines that are suffering mechanical failure of some sort or another too, its not just NCL. They run these ships hard, over a two year period they barely see 2 or 3 weeks in drydock, which is a very high percentage of time being on line, higher than most power plants. Yes, they can and do fix things at sea, but it takes a while for the spare parts to arrive, up to a couple of months. Hopefully the rest of the cruise was wonderful, and you'll sail with NCL again. Don't let the little things get to you that are beyond the control of the cruise lines. I'm sure you maintain your car as best as you can, and still mechanical problems crop up.I have been on cruises during the hurricane season, and instead of doing a Western Caribbean cruise we did an eastern Caribbean cruise. I didn't get to go to any of the ports I wished to go to, but despite the difficulties, had a wonderful cruise anyway..... You can too....
