Hi,

Does anyone have any ideas what to do in Nassau. The Century gets into port at 1:30pm.....whats up with that!

Our research doesn't show many public beaches.......there's something called Blackbeards Cay, on the excursion but unfortunately our ship doesn't arrive soon enouigh..........Can you do it alone instead?

Thanks

Jon

It's a long haul from SXM to the Bahamas. Actually last year on the Century the ship was about one hour early. You'll see many taxis at the pier you can take anywhere.

YOU CAN..take the shuttle from the pier to Atlantis for $5...and you can stay there for the afternoon. You can go on a taxi tour and share it with some others...Or you can stay on the ship and enjoy yourself...which is what I do most of the time.

When you get on board ask about the Dolphine encounter. I think you can do it in time but it depends on what time the ship leaves. I did it over Dec. when I was staying at Atlantis and there were tons of people from the ships in my group. I do not remeber the cost but it was well worth it.
if you have any questions do not be afraid to ask.

I was in Nassau years ago on an NCL cruise (Norway). I found the straw market kinda tacky. We spent most of the time on a shore excursion that was snorkeling at a shipwreck site. My vague recollection is that was fun.
We'll be there in April on the Century & probably heading for the water again.

Cable Beach near the Wyndham hotel can be reached by town #10 bus $1pp or taxi. Celebrity may even have a "tour" $. Take a taxi to Paradise Island and go to the right of the Sheraton Hotel for a public beach. You can walk to Atlantis Hotel after and do a self guided tour inside. There are plenty of taxi's for the return $4pp each way.
Bon Voyage
