nassau snorkelling or pirate museum

We don't arrive in Nassau until 1:00 in the afternoon on the Jubilee next week. I am trying to decide between just staying in town and doing the straw market and the Pirate Museum or taking the kids on a snorkelling excursion. If we do the snorkelling we don't get back until after the Pirate museum is closed. Has anyone been to it? Is it worth missing an afternoon of snorkelling for. My kids are 7,6 and 3.
