My husband and myself just got off the dawn on sunday the 26. The weather was good
and there are 10 restaurants on the ship. We ate at the bamboo twice because we
love sushi. In the bathroom there is shampoo and body gel, so you may want to take conditioner. The bathrooms have sliding glass doors and I think they seem to be a little bigger. There is so many pretty things to look at. They have original paintings of vangogh
and monet in one of the restaurants. Good entertainment. We were there for a cruise conference so we were pretty busy. Dont overpack you never wear half of what you take.
They have a formal night, 50-60 night, 70-80 night. They teach dance lessons. They
will have a chocoholic buffet on one day. They show movies in the cinema and if you miss it, you can watch it the next day on t.v..
There are also nice blow dryers already provided so you may not want to pack that either.
They have martini tastings and margarita tastings and pool parties. I do want to remind you DO NOT FORGET YOUR BIRTH CERTIFICATES OR PASSPORTS. Even though
my husband is a travel agent we thought that each other packed it and needless to say we had some problems.

If I can answer anything else just email me its late here and im going to go
I hope some of this helps you. PAM

Pam,

Thanks so much for all the info. We are leaving on Sunday and I can't wait!

My only question to you (or anyone else out there!) is how much "motion" do you feel on the ship? This is my first cruise and in preparation I got myself a "sea band" as I would rather stay away from O/C medications.

Looking forward to the sun and martinis!

Mally,
I missed the first two days as you know but everyone said it was smooth.
There may have been like one windy day while laying out but, it was not so bad.
I get seasick very easy and I just did not think about it and everything went great.
I did not have to use my bands at all. Thats a first for me.
So just sit back, relax, get some sun, and have a martini for me.

Happy sailing, Pam
Feel free to email me anytime I would love to hear about your cruise

Mally, We are going on the Dawn the week after you on 11/16 and have read that last week some passengers were left at the dock. It seems the cruise documents are reading departure at 5:00p.m and the ship is actually leaving at 4:00p.m. So, I would suggest getting there with time to spare and then get on and have a BLAST!!!!!

Seawitch,
Yes, I heard about that!! Although we are coming in from CT I will probably call ahead to make sure there are no surprises! I do feel for those people who had to travel some distance to get to NYC only to watch the tail-end of the Dawn!
I am so excited it is pathetic!!! Thanks for the note!!

My husband and myself were left at the dock not because of the time that the ship sailed but we forgot our birth certificates as I told mally. The ncl dawn did sail at
5:00p.m. They were going to let us fax our birth certificates but my son tried for 2 1/2\
hours and all fax lines were busy. It was probably us you heard about. It was sad
watching the dawn sail away.

It's kind of weird that each time you check the itinerary, the depature time changes! But as I said, thankfully we are coming by private car from CT (no parking hassles!!) and are extremely anal about checking in early!
Thanks again for all the input! I posted the message not knowing what to expect or even if I would get a response so this has been a nice surprise! I will be sure to have a martini for both of you!
